Poland: IVR extension to Pusty SMS campaign

Internetq has implemented an IVR extension to SMS campaign “Pusty SMS” as a breaking format for SMS campaigns

Goal

11th edition of Poland’s “Pusty SMS” the biggest SMS campaign was considered as the lottery with the highest prize pool ever, with the most involving mechanics that would give the desired excitement to the participants.
To meet these expectations, Internetq has added the non-SMS feature to the campaign: besides of gathering points through SMSes, users were offered to take a part in an IVR contest that would increase the points’ level and the chances to win in daily, weekly and final draws.
Participants were informed through SMS communication about the opportunity to increase the score by taking a part in IVR game.

Procedure

  • The informational SMS campaign was run among the "Pusty SMS" lottery participants.
  • The registered user called the 708 77 00 88 number, either from fixed line or from mobile, to take a part in the game.
  • The IVR game success for the user consisted on entering the numbers said by the lector. The longer number was entered properly; the highest point award was given.
  • Users received a reply SMS which confirmed their participation and informed them Time of completion Using the existing infrastructure, the implementation of the IVR application was approximately 15 working days.

Duration of Service

The “SMS for a Million” started on 1st November 2009 and lasted until the end of the SMS campaign; to the 3rd of January 2010.

Results

The results of the campaign were impressive. The average minutes per call were over 2 minutes. Besides of the financial success, the IVR extension proved the market’s needs for more exciting mechanics for audiotext contests. The campaign was realized with no complaints and with complete customer satisfaction.

How it works

  • Step1: User dials the 708 77 00 88 number from fixed line of cell phone.
  • Step2: User enters his registered MSISDN and starts the game.
  • Step3: The lector asks for entering the 3 digits number. The proper entering is awarded by – for example - 1000 points.
  • Step4: After several successful inputs, the user advances for the next level, with 4 and more digits number awarded by bigger amount of points.
  • Step5: Maximum time per single call is 30 minutes.
