Datacenter

InternetQ operates its own datacenter in mainland Greece and also uses rackspace at third-party datacenters in Luxembourg and Poland. All datacenters used meet the TIA-942 Tier 3 set of standards that ensure 99,982% availability.

Virtual Datacenter

In last two years InternetQ shifted to a virtual datacenter environment by deploying virtual array systems, blade servers and hypervisor systems. Our goal was to create a computing infrastructure that could provide us flexibility to dynamically assign computing and storage resources where  most needed. In a virtual datacenter environment, the deployment of new servers or the upgrade of existing ones is only a matter of minutes. Since we operate in such a fast changing environment, we consider this one of our core competitive advantages.

IP Network

The IP network is critical for our business operations and great care was taken to design a scalable and reliable network. Our IP network uses Gigabit Ethernet as its carrier and redundancy is designe at both the data link and IP layers. All sites are connected to the Internet using multiple upstream connections to provide our customers uninterruptible access to our services.

Telephony

Our telephony network is a hybrid using both VoIP and standard TDM telephony protocols  (eg SIP, H323, E-DSS1/ Q.931 and QSIG) and interconnects our PABX and VRU systems with carriers in Greece and Poland. This infrastructure is capable of handling hundreds of concurrent calls to voice services.

Storage Network

In response to our growing need for storage space and fast data access InternetQ has deployed a 4Gbps fibre channel switched storage network. That provides us with great flexibility in managing storage resources across our network.  Redundancy is achieved using multi-path techniques, volume snapshots and clustered fibre scsi controllers.

Power Protection

Electronic equipment on all sites is powered by two seperate electrical power feeds, each one supported by its own UPS system. Static transfer switches are also used to distribute load between the two feeds and perform automatic load transfer from one feed to the other in case of failure. Power generators are also installed to allow us to continue operations during prolonged power cuts.

Environmental Controls

All our datacenters are equipped with certified automatic fire detection and extinguishing systems. Air conditioning is supported by redundant units and the environment is monitored via temperature, humidity and flooding sensors. Physical access is restricted and monitored using surveillance cameras and access cards.
